My first experience of Be Me was in Year 9. I was in a bad place and having a space surrounded by friends and peace really helped. The whole experience was amazing, being able to go and be creative with the crafts and be honest without being judged.

While in lockdown I did a one to one course called ‘Who am I?’ Being able to have a weekly chat with a friend really helped me get through lockdown. The session made me realise how much I had grown as a person.
Since then, I have become a Year 11 mentor. Being asked to be a mentor was really unexpected. I was very surprised but agreed as I have been in the girl’s shoes and thought that having an older girl who has been through the same would help them.
